Pompey legend Alan Knight, a smoker for over 30 years, successfully managed to kick the habit – now it is your turn.
Pompey Sports & Education Foundation and Pompey Quit have come together to encourage fans to stop smoking.
They are running free ‘quit smoking’ sessions, starting later this month.
They will also be in the Victory Bar on selected matchdays to offer advice and support, such as information on the latest medications available, support for preparing to quit smoking and help with weight management and physical activity.
If you smoke, your life expectancy is said to be about eight-to-12 years less than that of a non-smoker.
Giving up smoking at any age increases your chances of a longer and healthier life.
About 106,000 people in the UK die each year due to smoking-related diseases – and if you continue smoking, there’s a 50 per cent chance it will kill you.
