Club 1898 is appealing for anyone with knowledge of, or contact numbers for, former players to get in touch.
The club, devised by former players Linvoy Primus, Alan Knight, Vince Hilaire and Mick Mellows, is on the lookout for as many ex-Pompey pros as possible to ensure the club launch goes off with a bang.
The concept of Club 1898 is for Pompey to forge new links with as many of its former players as possible, and the organisers are anxious to leave no stone unturned in their quest to find the many players who may have slipped under the radar since leaving Fratton Park.
Club 1898 will officially be launched at the Pompey v Derby game on February 5, and the organisers want it to be a statement of intent for the future.
Anyone with any knowledge of former players from any era are asked to contact johnnymoore@pompeyfc.co.uk.
Pompey supporters can also join Club 1898 for an annual membership fee, which will be used to fund specific projects involving the former Blues stars and their activities.
Membership is limited and will, among other things, allow access to the Jimmy Dickinson lounge on matchdays, so members will be able to meet their old heroes.
