Abdul Razak has joined Pompey on loan from Manchester City for a month.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder – who will wear the number 14 shirt for the Blues – is available for Pompey’s Championship clash at Derby on Saturday.
Razak, who was born in Ivory Coast, has made four appearances for City, playing 85 minutes of their 5-2 Carling Cup win at Wolves on Wednesday night.
Pompey co-caretaker manager Guy Whittingham said: “Abdul is a gifted midfield player who Manchester City think very highly of.
“It’s a great opportunity for him to come here and get some experience and we’re looking forward to him being part of the squad.
“We’re very fortunate to have him and we’re grateful to Manchester City for that.”
City boss Roberto Mancini said: “He’s a talented footballer and a very good young man. I believe he has the ability to become a very important player for Manchester City.”
Razak arrived at the Etihad Stadium from Crystal Palace’s youth set-up in the summer of 2010. He made his City debut as a late substitute in a Premier League win over West Brom in February.
