Pompey eased to a comfortable 4-0 victory against Hampshire Colleges’ under-19 side in a friendly at Gosport Borough.
They opened the scoring just before the break when Billy Tsovolos capitalised on a handling error by the opposition keeper to finish from close range.
Carl Walshe strode down the pitch and stroked the ball home early in the second half to double the Blues’ advantage.
Pompey’s third goal arrived on the hour when Walshe touched a free-kick to Ashley Harris, who drove the ball into the net from 25 yards.
Hampshire Colleges rarely threatened but Matt Gledhill made a decent save from point-blank range on 72 minutes.
And Elliot Wheeler (pictured) completed the scoring for Pompey late in the game, surging forward from right-back and curling home a delightful shot.
