Pompey came from two goals down to pick up a point against Cardiff in their final game of the season.
Early strikes from Yannis Drais and Jesse Darko looked to set the Welsh side on the way to victory.
But Ryan Williams (pictured) reduced the deficit before Lewis Tallack levelled the scores late in the first half.
Academy manager Andy Awford said: “We started the game well but Cardiff hit us on the counter-attack and scored with their first chance of the game.
“We had been in control of the game until then, but then we conceded again from a set-piece.
“That was even more disappointing because it’s something we’ve worked on a lot during the week and certain people didn’t do their job.
“But we showed plenty of spirit and pulled one back when Patrick Antelmi played a good ball to Ryan Williams, who did well to beat the keeper.
“Lewis Tallack then equalised from a corner and we had chances to win the game with Antelmi hitting the crossbar and several other shots being cleared off the line.
“I thought we shaded the game and deserved victory but you’d always take a draw when you’re two goals down.
“We had three under-16 players in the side and I was pleased to see them step up to the plate and perform well.
“And our performance levels were much higher than they have been in recent weeks, so it was nice to finish the season on a positive note.”
