Pompey Academy were held to a goalless draw at Norwich’s Colney training ground.
The Blues had several good chances with Ashley Harris' header cleared off the line and Ryan Williams (pictured) denied by a fine stop from Canaries keeper Remi Matthews.
Norwich’s best chance came right at the death when Michael Clunan’s free-kick was tipped onto the bar by Matt Gledhill.
Academy manager Andy Awford said: “We dominated the game from start to finish – it’s the best we’ve played for a quite a few weeks.
“We opened Norwich up and had chance after chance. My only criticism is that we couldn’t take any of them.
“But we looked extremely comfortable throughout the match and were very solid defensively.
“There was a lot of work done in training during the week and it was pleasing to see that transferred onto the pitch.
“I was delighted with all the players’ attitude and effort – they did exactly what was asked of them by myself and Paul Hardyman.
“It’s just a shame we couldn’t find that killer goal, but that’s something we’ll continue to work on in training.”
