Pompey comfortably beat Crystal Palace to record their first victory of the season.
The Blues went in narrowly ahead at the interval thanks to a goal from Dan Butler (pictured) after 15 minutes.
Carl Walshe netted his fifth of the season to double their advantage after the break, before skipper Lewis Stockford completed the scoring on the hour.
Director of youth operations Paul Smalley said: “We were playing against a side who have recorded some excellent results this season and who have a reputation of producing players for the first team.
“But we were resolute, resilient and professional in everything we did – both with and without possession.
“We played with passion, desire and quality, especially in the final third. There was energy, enthusiasm and a will to succeed.
“Tom Fry was again excellent in goal, making some smart saves at crucial moments as well as distributing and organising well from the back.
“We played three under-16 players: Fry, Adam Webster and Kane Cook. They all performed well.
“Before the game we set targets for all the players and they all made solid contributions throughout the match.
“Now they have to strive to continue this approach both in games and on the training pitch. They must maintain their professionalism in everything they do.”
