Matt Gledhill is in the Republic of Ireland under-19 squad to face Serbia this week.
Pompey’s academy keeper has travelled to Serbia with the squad for two friendly matches.
Academy manager Andy Awford said: “We’re very pleased for Matt. He has been on standby for them in the past, so it is great for him to have broken through into the squad.
“It’s also a credit to John Keeley and Mark Mason, who have worked hard coaching Matt.
“It’s going to be a great experience for him and it will certainly help his development.”
