Pompey coasted to a comfortable victory in a friendly at Five Heads Park last night with an emphatic six-goal romp.
Horndean’s youth side were no match for the Blues, who scored four in the first 45 minutes before easing off and finishing the job in the second half.
A brace from Carl Walshe (pictured) and goals from Jordan Fitzharris, Ryan Williams, Lewis Stockford and George Colson engineered the win.
It provided the perfect tonic for Pompey’s academy side, who were beaten 2-0 by Sheffield Wednesday in their opening game of the league campaign on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Pompey’s under-15 side drew with Italian giants Juventus at the Warwick International Invitational tournament.
