Liam O’Brien made his England under-19 debut as the Three Lions drew 1-1 with Holland in Waalwijk on Tuesday night.
England – managed by former Pompey defender Noel Blake – took the lead after just seven minutes when Jacob Mellis raced onto Matthew Briggs’ pass and finished past Dutch keeper Marco Bizot.
O’Brien made his bow on 61 minutes as a replacement for Fulham keeper Wesley Foderingham.
But he could do nothing about Holland’s late equaliser as Reece Brown inadvertently headed the ball into his own net.
