There is a temptation to think that Pompey have one foot on the beach after claiming the League One title with two games to spare.
But Joe Rafferty is determined to finish on a high when the curtain comes down on a successful campaign at Lincoln on Saturday.
The sixth-placed hosts know that only a win would guarantee them a spot in the play-offs, with Barnsley, Oxford and Blackpool also in the hunt.
Rafferty believes their opponents will provide a tough test, but wants to give the supporters more reason to cheer.
The defender said: “We’re looking forward to going out there, expressing ourselves and trying to do what we’ve been doing all season.
“There’s always something to prove in every single game – and this one is certainly no different in that respect.

“It’s one last push needed from us now to try to collect all three points and that’s what we’ll be aiming for.
“Lincoln have got a lot to play for and so we know they’ll definitely be up for it, while the result is obviously less important for us.
“But there’s still a responsibility for us to show what we can do, especially for those Pompey fans who are travelling up.”
The players and staff are heading to Southsea Common the following afternoon for an event to mark their achievements.
Rafferty said: “It’ll be another brilliant celebration and we’re looking forward to seeing all the fans down there.
“Hopefully the weather will be okay and we can enjoy a lovely occasion to cap what’s been a great season.
“It’s nice for those who haven’t been able to get tickets for the recent game to come down and we can all celebrate together.”
