RESERVES FACE SWANSEA TONIGHT

2 May 2017

A place in the Premier League Cup final is up for grabs

Pompey Reserves continue their quest for Premier League Cup glory at Swansea tonight (7pm kick-off).

The semi-final clash will be held at the Welsh club’s Landore training ground (SA6 8AX), with free entry.

Coach Mikey Harris said: “Getting to this stage isn’t something we really envisaged when we entered the competition, but we’re here on merit.

“Now we’ve got a very tough fixture against Swansea for a place in the final, but we’ll go there full of confidence and can hopefully cause another upset.”

Pompey have already seen off Sheffield United and Colchester in the knockout stages after finishing top of Group D, ahead of Norwich, Everton and Wolves.

Swansea defeated Brighton in the last round and finished as champions in the second tier of the Premier League’s under-23 division.

Tonight’s clash will be settled on the night, with extra-time and penalties used if necessary. The winners will face Reading in the final.

The Premier League Cup is a tournament for under-23 sides, although teams can include three over-age outfield players and an over-age goalkeeper.

Please note that there is no parking available for fans at the ground.
