POMPEY TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR LADIES SIDE

31 October 2016

Agreement signed at Fratton Park

Portsmouth FC and Pompey Ladies have signed an agreement which will see the club support the women’s team in a range of ways, including coaching and medical back up.

The deal was structured between the two clubs and signed by Blues chief executive Mark Catlin and Ladies’ chairman Mick Williams.

Catlin said: “Pompey Ladies are an integral part of the Pompey family and I am delighted to have put pen to paper on this agreement.

“The Ladies share our branding and we are very proud of their playing achievements over the years. This deal brings them closer to the club than ever before.”

The agreement will see the Blues coaching staff giving their expertise to help Pompey Ladies first team manager Craig Taylor prepare his side for FA Women’s Premier League South games, as well as giving the women access to the club’s training and physio facilities at Copnor Road.

In addition, the club will allow the ladies use of their facilities to enable them to raise funds by putting on events.

The club will also continue to promote the ladies’ team through its various media and social media channels.

Williams added: “I am delighted to have signed this agreement today. The Ladies have always had a good relationship with Portsmouth Community Football Club and this agreement cements the continuing support that Pompey give to their Ladies football team.”
