BREAKFAST NETWORKING EVENT

29 April 2014

Meet other local companies at Fratton Park

Portsmouth Football Club are delighted with the uptake from local businesses for the club’s first Breakfast Networking Event at Fratton Park on Thursday, May 8 (8am-9.30pm).

More than 50 places have already been booked, despite it only being launched just over a week ago.

Those attending will be able to mingle with like-minded business people, enjoy a full English breakfast and hear a short presentation from one of the club’s partners about working with the UK’s largest fan-owned football club.

Pompey director Mark Trapani, who is also managing director of Snows Motor Group, will also be speaking about the club’s developments off the pitch.

Anna Mitchell from Portsmouth FC, who is organising the event along with Fareham-based media relations company Briscoe French Communications, hopes the event will bring local firms together.

She said: “We want the football club to become a hub for the local business community – somewhere where firms can meet and network with each other while enjoying a shared interest in Pompey.

“This is something that has not been done for quite some time and we think it’s important that the club continues to reinforce its community ethos – not just with fans but with businesses too.

“We are delighted with the uptake so far and hope that more businesses will book places for what is expected to be a great networking event.”

Trapani added: “The business community has rallied round Portsmouth Football Club during the last few years when, financially, things were looking dire – and none more so than our sponsors.

“Most of them are based locally and they have always understood the importance of supporting the football club.

“Now our financial situation is stable, we feel it is important to support the wider business community in turn.

“If we can do that by helping local companies meet each other in a place where they have a mutual interest, then that’s what we will do.”

Places for the event are limited to two per company. Tickets are priced £10 (including VAT) per person, which includes breakfast.

Tickets must be booked in advance by emailing annamitchell@pompeyfc.co.uk
