Austrian speaks in tonight's programme
Johnny Ertl says Pompey have to show more attacking intent in order to turn their form around.
The Blues have failed to win any of their last six matches in all competitions and were beaten 3-0 at Bury at the weekend.
Those games have yielded just three Pompey goals – and two of those have been netted by defenders.
But Ertl believes the entire team is responsible for firing the Blues back up the table.
“Our main aim right now is to start turning more of our opportunities into goals,” he says in the official matchday magazine for tonight’s clash with Stevenage at Fratton Park.
“You can see we have a solid base, which is something we’ve worked on, and it’s also promising that we’re creating a lot of chances.
“But we need to be more clinical when we have the ball in our opponents’ box.
“I’m not just talking about the strikers – we defend as a team, so we also need to attack as one. We’re putting in a lot of time on the training pitch to try to get things right.”
