FA CUP ON DISPLAY AT HISTORY DAY

17 April 2015

Get down to Fratton Park on Sunday

Pompey stage their first History Day on Sunday (April 19) and the replica FA Cup awarded for winning the trophy in 2008 will be the signature exhibit.

The free event is taking place in the Victory Lounge at Fratton Park from 11am-3pm.

There will be an exhibition of club memorabilia, drawn from the Blues’ own archives, as well as loans from fans.

The display will feature match-worn shirts from the noughties, including Milan Baros’ 2008 FA Cup final shirt, and a unique collection of framed cigarette and collector cards spanning more than 100 years of the club’s existence.

And fans can sign up for a new online project called Pompey Voices, which will enable them to tell their Blues story on a new website currently being developed.

There will also be a programme and memorabilia fair with nine stalls from dealers around the country, while the Pompey Former Players Association will also be represented, raising funds to support for ex-players who have fallen on hard times.

The Pompey Pals charity has a display of artefacts from the First World War as part of its project to record the deeds of the men from Portsmouth who signed up to serve their country in the Great War.

There is ample free car parking in the club car park in Anson Road and there will be a bar and light refreshments available.
