Bid for latest reward
A lucky Pompey fan will have a gourmet meal, cooked by a Michelin-starred chef, served at their own home
And Blues captain Johnny Ertl and his pop singer wife Selma Adzem will be guests of honour.
The latest reward in the club’s fanfunding scheme to raise £250,000 for two academy pitches at the training ground will run as an auction until the end of the campaign at midnight on Sunday, August 10.
Pompey fan and gourmet chef Jonathan Ward, who runs his own catering business – Jigsaw Catering – in West Sussex, has donated the reward.
The reward has a significant reserve price and organisers are confident it will raise a large sum.
Colin Farmery, who has been project managing the fanfunding campaign for the club, said: “This is truly a unique opportunity. As well as Johnny and Selma, who are fascinating company, the fan will be able to invite three other guests. It is literally a one-off, never to be repeated chance.”
Johnny is also looking forward to the dinner. He said: “Selma and I, as well as the rest of the squad, are completely behind this great project.
“I was delighted when we were asked to be the guests of honour and we are really looking forward to the menu Jonathan comes up with and being able to share an evening with some Pompey fans for such a great cause.”
Jonathan is also excited at the opportunity to help the cause. He said: “As a lifelong Pompey fan I really wanted to support this great initiative by offering a unique experience to a fellow supporter wishing to help their club.
“Jigsaw has been established for six years and as the owner I have more than ten years' experience in the industry working in London at one of only four restaurants to hold three Michelin stars in the UK.
“The highest bidder in this auction will get a three-star Michelin standard four-course meal with wine and canapés included. Commercially, such a service would retail at well over £400.”
