Academy role for former Salisbury boss
Mikey Harris has been appointed Pompey’s new under-18 academy coach.
The 29-year-old has stepped down from his role as manager of non-league Salisbury to fill the post vacated by Paul Hardyman, who is now working with the first team.
Blues academy manager Mark Kelly said: “I’m delighted to have Mikey on board – he’s a very good coach and an excellent communicator.
“He fits in well with our plan for long-term development and is someone who our young scholars will be able to identify with.
Harris became English football’s youngest full-time manager when he took charge of Conference Premier outfit Salisbury last summer.
He was formerly a midfielder at the Wiltshere side and served as assistant boss before getting the top job.
Harris guided Salisbury to a 12th-placed finish last term, but the club were relegated for failing to pay debts.
