Midfielder named Player of the Season
Jed Wallace has won The News/Sports Mail Pompey Player of the Season award.
He was presented with the award by chief sports writer Neil Allen before the Blues’ final match of the campaign against York.
The 21-year-old midfielder was selected by readers of our local newspaper after netting 17 goals on 49 appearances this term.
He follows in the footsteps of players like Mark Hateley, Alan Biley, Paul Walsh, Alan Knight, Gary O’Neil and David James by claiming prize.
Wallace also picked up Player of the Season awards from five supporters’ clubs – Clan Pompey, Northern Blues, South Wales, South West and the USA.
But the Central Branch choose Paul Robinson as their star man, while Ryan Taylor won Chichester’s vote and Dan Butler was selected by the Isle of Wight.
