KARREN BRADY TO ATTEND BUSINESS CLUB BRUNCH

10 July 2014

Fratton Park event on July 17

Karren Brady, entrepreneur and West Ham vice-chairman, will be speaking at the Pompey business club brunch meeting on Thursday, July 17.

The event will be held at Fratton Park from 10am until 12pm.

The former Birmingham chief executive, and well-known TV personality, will attend the brunch as part of her visit to Portsmouth as Conservative Party Small Business Ambassador, and is eager to view the work that the club is doing in the business community.

The format of the event will begin with guests enjoying a glass of Bucks Fizz on arrival, while networking with local businesses, before being seated on a hosted table for brunch.

Express FM presenter Dan Windle will conduct an informal interview with a Pompey panel of guests to include; chairman Iain McInnes, CEO Mark Catlin, manager Andy Awford and Ashley Brown, chairman of the Pompey Trust.

The interview will focus on the club’s continuing development, both on and off the field, with a special focus on the Tifosy Fan Funding project to raise funds for two academy pitches at the new training facility.

Director of community projects Clare Martin and sponsorship sales manager Anna Mitchell will then take to the stage to talk about the work they are doing with the local business community, and the importance of the community-based projects.

Clare is leading the bid for Portsmouth to become England’s City of Football and she will be updating the meeting on the progress to date.

Mark Catlin said: “It’s fantastic news that Karren is taking the time to come to Fratton Park and see for herself the excellent work that the club is doing, both in regards of promoting business links within Portsmouth and the work generally being done in the community.”

Anna Mitchell added: “The launch of the business club initiative is a way for the club to engage with and become the hub of the business community in the south.

“We are honoured that Karren has recognised the work we are doing and she is a terrific ambassador for business, who I am sure will have some inspiring things to say.”
