The Austrian makes his first start in more than two months in one of five changes from the side beaten by AFC Wimbledon on Boxing Day.
Nicky Shorey replaces the suspended Dan Butler at left-back and is joined in defence by Joe Devera.
Andy Barcham comes in wide on the left, while there is a start in midfield for Nigel Atangana.
Jack Whatmough, Lee Holmes and Craig Westcarr drop to the bench, while Danny Hollands is not named in the squad.
