LOAN DUO READY FOR ACTION

21 November 2014

Fish and Bean looking forward to Blues bows

Pompey fans will get the chance to see two new faces in a Pompey shirt on Saturday.

Loan arrivals Marcus Bean and Matt Fish are likely to come straight into the squad for the League Two clash with Morecambe.

They have arrived from Gillingham and Colchester respectively on deals that run until January 3.

And the duo are both looking forward to making their Fratton Park bows.

Defender Fish said: “I know some of the players and a little bit about the club, so I was delighted to come to Pompey.

“The manager said he wanted me down here, so it was a bit of a no-brainer really.

“It seems like a really good group of lads who are all together – and that’s exactly what you need.

“Obviously there was a disappointing result during the week, but anyone can win in the FA Cup on their day, so we have to put that result behind us and concentrate on the league.

“I feel fit and ready to go, so if I go straight into the team then I feel that I can do a job.”

Midfielder Bean added: “I’m really looking forward to performing here and it means a lot to be able to play for a club like this.

“I’ve come here to try to instil a bit of energy and belief into the team.

“I’ve played at League Two level before and won promotion, so I know just what it takes to succeed.

“I’m here to give my all to the cause because I know that’s the least that the fans will ask for.

“Fans will see energy and commitment from me. I’m a box-to-box midfielder who likes to get his foot on the ball whenever I can.”
