ROBINSON WINS PLAYERS' VOTE

28 April 2015

Defender takes top prize at awards dinner

Paul Robinson was named Players’ Player of the Season at Pompey’s end of season awards dinner.

The defender – who has scored two goals in 38 appearances this term – received the most votes from his team-mates, with goalkeeper Paul Jones in second place.

He collected the award from caretaker Blues boss Gary Waddock at the gala ceremony, which was held in the Victory Lounge.

Jack Whatmough was named Players’ Young Player of the Season, seeing off competition from Ben Close and Conor Chaplin.

Meanwhile, guests selected Jed Wallace as their Player of the Season and chose his strike at Carlisle as Goal of the Season.

Robinson, Wallace and Matt Tubbs also took part in a Q&A with host Andrew Moon, while former Arsenal and England star Ray Parlour later entertained the audience with some hilarious anecdotes.
