PLYMOUTH & POMPEY TO UNITE IN TRIBUTE

31 October 2014

Armed Services Day at Home Park on November 15

Pompey fans will be showing their support during Plymouth Argyle’s annual Armed Services Day at Home Park on Saturday, November 15.

The two sides meet in a televised clash that day (12.05pm kick-off) and the hosts will pay tribute to those who have lost their lives in service of the country, as we approach the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War.

Given the naval connections between the clubs, the Devon side have been in close contact with Pompey about their plans, so that we can play our own part in proceedings.

Fans of both teams will pay a pre-match tribute, while also uniting at half-time to stage a penalty shoot-out between young supporters.

Representatives of all the armed services will be in attendance, along with local dignitaries.

It is an event that Portsmouth Football Club are proud to play their part in and we would like to take this opportunity to thank Plymouth for their close liaison with us.

We will also be paying our own special remembrance tribute before the FA Cup tie against Aldershot on Sunday, November 8.
