Pompey have completed the signing of striker Ryan Taylor on an 18-month deal.
The 25-year-old was a free agent after leaving Bristol City and will wear the number 20 shirt for the Blues.
He said: “I’m very happy to be here and I just want to start playing some games now.
“I’ve been sat on the bench at Bristol City and asked the manager if I could leave. He said yes and when I heard that Pompey were interested it was an easy decision.
“It’s a club with a massive fanbase and I can’t wait to show the supporters just what I can do.
“I’ll work hard and bring other people into play – hopefully I’ll also get a few goals to help the team climb the league.
“It feels like I’m coming in at a time when things are starting to look up, so we want to get a good result on Saturday and then crack on from there.”
Taylor started his career at Rotherham, where he made 152 appearances before signing for the Robins in the summer of 2011.
