Pompey claim Performance of the Week prize
Pompey’s 6-2 victory at Cambridge on Saturday has been won the LG Performance of the Week award.
The decision was made by a five-man League Managers Association panel, comprising LMA chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry – who have managed a combined total of more than 6,000 professional matches.
Blues boss Andy Awford will receive a specially commissioned trophy made by world-renowned silversmiths, and LMA partner, Thomas Lyte of London.
Matt Tubbs bagged a hat-trick as Pompey won on their league travels for just the second time this season, while Jed Wallace, Paul Robinson and Ryan Taylor were also on target.
