Defender pens longer contract
Jack Whatmough has signed an extension to his Pompey contract.
The 17-year-old defender was handed his senior debut against Southend last November and has made a total of nine first team appearances.
He was also called up for an England under-18 training camp before making his Three Lions bow against Croatia last month.
Caretaker Blues boss Andy Awford said: “Jack has made a big impression this season and deserves a new deal.
“We’re delighted that he’s shown commitment to the Pompey cause by agreeing to lengthen his stay here.
“I’d also like to thank chief executive Mark Catlin and finance director Tony Brown for all their hard work in getting this deal completed.”
