Defender to train with Young Lions
Jack Whatmough has been called up by England for an under-19 training camp.
It caps a fine season for the 17-year-old defender, who has impressed since making his senior Pompey debut in November.
He also made his Three Lions bow in an under-18 friendly defeat to Croatia in March.
Whatmough will now step up an age group to train with Noel Blake’s under-19s on May 14 and 15.
A squad of 18 will then be picked for the European U19 Championship Elite Qualifying Round fixtures against Montenegro, Ukraine and Scotland.
