Goalkeeper joined Pompey from Reading in the summer of 2004 and has served as both first-choice and back-up stopper during his time on the south coast.

Ashdown made his Blues debut in a Carling Cup victory at Tranmere in September 2004.

He was released at the end of the 2009/10 season but Steve Cotterill brought him back after a sucessful trial.

Ashdown holds a post-war Pompey record for the most minutes without conceding a goal – 636 in February and March 2011.
