Kanu joined Pompey in the summer of 2006 and scored a brace on his debut against Blackburn – but was denied a hat-trick when he missed a penalty.

He wrote his name in Fratton folklore by scoring the winning goal against Cardiff in the 2008 FA Cup final at Wembley – after also grabbing the only goal against West Brom in the previous round.

In a glittering career, the former Ajax, Inter Milan and Arsenal star has also won the Champions League, Premier League and UEFA Cup, as well as an Olympic gold medal in 1996.
