Teenage defender signs three-year contract
Pompey defender Jack Whatmough has signed a three-year professional contract.
The 17-year-old centre-back has played in both of the Blues’ academy league games this term.
He was also an unused substitute, at the age of just 15, when Pompey were beaten at Plymouth in the first round of the Capital One Cup last season.
Academy manager Andy Awford said: “I’m delighted for Jack. We will continue to work hard to help him develop and hope that he is someone who will go on to play first team football in the future.”
