Barker links up with former Crawley assistant
Anthony Williams has joined Pompey as assistant manager and goalkeeping coach after both Steve Allen and David Coles decided to leave the club.
Williams, 36, was new manager Richie Barker’s assistant at Crawley, until the pair left the West Sussex club last month, along with director of football Steve Coppell, who is also now at Fratton Park.
Chief executive Mark Catlin said: “We are delighted to have Anthony on board, but we are also sorry to see both Steve and Dave go.
“They have both given the club good service and we wish them well for the future.”
Allen arrived at Fratton Park as physio under Steve Cotterill’s reign and, until recently, he also doubled up as former boss Guy Whittingham’s assistant.
Coles recently returned for his second spell as goalkeeping coach.
