Free travel for Isle of Wight-based players
Portsmouth Football Club are delighted to announce that Wighlink have agreed to continue as academy partners for the new season.
Wightlink will provide free foot passenger travel – and highly discounted car ferry travel – for all academy players who live on the Isle of Wight, allowing them to get to training and matches.
Academy manager Andy Awford said: “I’m extremely grateful to Wightlink for extending their sponsorship for the forthcoming campaign.
“The Isle of Wight is a recruiting hotbed for us, with Dan Butler, Jack Maloney and Liam Triggs three of many players to have come through the ranks in recent times.
“We look forward to a long, fruitful and trusting partnership with Wightlink and this will allow our strong recruitment team on the Isle of Wight – headed up by Roger North – to hopefully keep the supply of players coming through.”
