L&S Sponsor South Stand

24 July 2013

Pompey link up with waste management company

The South Stand at Fratton Park will be sponsored by Fareham-based company L&S Waste Management this season.

The historic stand, which dates from 1925, will be officially sponsored as part of the deal, which will see the company have its logo on the seats.

L&S Waste Management, who have been in business for more than 20 years, have depots in Portsmouth, Fareham and Southampton. They provide a range of services including:

- Supply of skips to construction companies and domestic customers
- Supply of grabs for construction and demolition projects
- Recycling and supply of quality aggregate
- Delivery of ready mixed concrete to construction sites
- Provision of waste disposal and recycling services

Pompey CEO Mark Catlin said: “We are delighted to have L&S Waste on board with us. The South Stand is a much-loved part of Fratton Park's fabric and to have a sponsor of this stand for the first time is something to celebrate.

“We have been working hard on improving Fratton Park over the summer and this deal will help us towards the goal of having the stadium spick and span for the start of the season.”

L&S Waste managing director and long-time Pompey fan Mick Balch added: “Since I was around 10 I have followed the journey Portsmouth Football Club have taken.

“We’ve all had highs and lows in the past years, but at L&S Waste Management just the same as at Pompey, we work hard and never give up trying!

“When I was offered the opportunity to become a Pompey partner I didn’t have to think twice about getting involved, especially as sponsor of the traditional old South Stand.  It feels great to be part of our local club at such an important time in its history.

“Like Portsmouth FC, L&S Waste Management has strong connections and customer support within the area.

“We are really looking forward to involving our workforce, families and our clients in our partnership with the club and intend to bring new and existing fans to support Pompey at Fratton Park this season.”
