Players and fans praise new home strip

Pompey players were delighted with their new kit following Tuesday night’s 5-0 victory at Havant & Waterlooville.

Blues skipper Johnny Ertl said: “The kit was amazing – very comfortable and we felt very smart in it.”

And long-serving kit-man Kev McCormack called it ‘lovely’ – the highest praise imaginable from a kit-man.

Pompey’s engagement manager Micah Hall said: “It's a nervous time for those who've been involved in procuring and selecting the kit when it is worn for the first time.

“You just dread the players coming in and complaining they don't like the fabric, it's too hot, it's too cold or whatever. However, the players love this kit and they looked great playing in it.”

The new training wear is also proving to be very popular with fans and players alike.

The terraces and stand at Westleigh Park were full of fans proudly wearing their new shirts and many others expressed their intention to buy one as soon possible. ‘It's going to be a classic.’ was the general consensus.

The new kit is available from the Pompey online store and in several branches of Sports Direct, including the famous Lillywhites of Regents Street.
