A night of comedy at the Wedgewood Rooms
Pompey Supporters' Trust chairman Ashley Brown has turned comedy promoter to help raise funds for a community share in the club.
On Sunday, July 14 he is putting on a show entitled Stand Up If You Love Pompey at the Wedgewood Rooms in Albert Road.
On the bill are the widely acclaimed The Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue, Canadian comic Sean Collins, who has appeared on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow on BBC One and Andy Askins.
“It's a fantastic gesture from the comics who are appearing,” said Ashley. “I am really pleased with the quality of the line-up and I hope people support the show, which promises to be excellent.”
The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets, priced just £8, are on sale through the Wedgewood Rooms Box Office or online here.
Play Up Pompey Music is a joint venture between the city's stars of music and comedy, promoters, venue/pub owners and the Pompey Supporters' Trust.
The mission is to raise money and galvanise support for a community-owned Portsmouth Football Club by holding a festival of events all over the city and surrounding areas during the summer of 2013.
Throughout July the festival will become one of Portsmouth's most unique community fundraising projects bringing a love of Pompey and music together across the whole city.
