Fans Day 2013

19 June 2013

Enjoy top-quality entertainment before Pompey's friendly against Charlton

The Tony Goodall Fans Conference – made up of representatives from various fans groups – will be hosting the second Fans’ Day at Fratton Park on Saturday, July 20.

Organiser Tom Dearie has pledged that it will be ‘bigger and better’ than its successful predecessor.

The maiden Fans’ Day was held in May 2011 and raised almost £5,000, which was split between the Tom Prince Cancer Trust and Pompey in the Community.

Now Tom and his group of volunteers are bringing the occasion back on the day of the Fratton friendly against Charlton.

This time four charities are being supported: Pompey in the Community, Tom Prince Cancer Trust, Asthma UK and Oakley’s Walking Fund. Money will also be raised towards community share purchases for Pompey Supporters’ Trust. The aim is to raise £10,000

Taking place from 11am-2pm, this year’s event will once again take place in the car park behind the Fratton End. Families are encouraged to come down and join in the fun before enjoying the match.

Pompey’s new away strip will be officially launched, with the kit on sale from a Sondico stand.

A specially-built stage will be constructed and host various live music acts, including Trust band The Dickensian Vagabonds, The Union King, Mojo Dollar and Luke Ferre.

Stalls from Strong Island, Urban Gallery FA Cup Prints, Lee Casey Illustration and Southsea Kitchen will feature alongside other local traders.

There will also be a return of the popular dunk tank, bouncy castle, five-a-side football, bungee racing and much more.

Bespoke food vendors and a beer tent will allow you to grab something to eat and drink while you enjoy the entertainment.

Young Pompey fans can take part in a crossbar challenge, fastest shot and penalty shoot-out competition.

And supporters can have their picture taken with a replica of the FA Cup won by the Blues in 1939 and 2008.

There are also fantastic prizes to be won in the raffle, including two season tickets, signed shirt, signed ball, VIP day out at Fratton Park, stadium tours, and the chance to shadow the manager and CEO for the day.

A pair of Victorious Festival tickets and a meal for two at the Belle Isle are also up for grabs, alongside prizes donated by other local companies.
