Agyemang Ready For Boro Return

8 November 2013

Striker looking forward to Stevenage trip

Patrick Agyemang is preparing to return to his former club this weekend.

The striker scored just once in 31 appearances for Stevenage before joining Pompey – initially on loan – in January.

But he has a chance to show Boro what they are missing when the Blues open their FA Cup campaign with a trip to the Lamex Stadium.

League Two success is Pompey’s ultimate goal, but Agyemang is still hoping to progress.

He said: “I’ve still got some friends at Stevenage and have spoken to a few of them about the tie. It should be a good game and I’m looking forward to going back there.

“The league is our main focus, but you never know where you could end up in the FA Cup. A few good results and you could find yourself playing one of the big Premier League teams.

“That would be good for the club and good for the fans, so we’ll try to get as far as we can in the competition.

“It will be tough on Saturday. Stevenage have done really well in the past few years, although they’re struggling a bit at the moment.

“Some of their recent results have been better, though, and I’m sure they’ll get out of trouble in the league.”

Pompey are looking to build on a run of results that has seen them unbeaten in six matches.

Agyemang said: “Hopefully we can carry that on and then take that form into our forthcoming league games.

“We’re feeling good at the moment. We look hard to beat and are grinding out results.

“At the start of the season we were playing better football, but we’re winning more games now and that’s a positive.”

Agyemang is 6/1 with Sky Bet to open the scoring on Saturday and if you open an account and deposit before the end of November, Pompey will get a £10 bonus. Join now!
