Pompey Launch Heaven's Light

29 November 2013

New digital magazine for fans

Pompey have launched a digital magazine for fans aimed at revealing some of the more offbeat and unsung activities which go on at Fratton Park.

Called Heaven’s Light, the 26-page e-mag includes features on the community art project which provided the murals in the Fratton End concourse, a behind-the-scenes look at the recent England women’s international at Fratton Park and an exclusive interview with Adam Blackmore, head of sport at BBC Radio Solent.

In a unique partnership with The News, the first edition will be circulated to more than 100,000 subscribers to their digital services, as well as the club’s own extensive database. It is estimated the magazine could have a reach of more than 250,000 people.

The e-mag is the latest in a number of digital initiatives at Fratton Park, which have put the Sky Bet League Two club at the cutting edge of new technology when it comes to engaging with fans.

Engagement manager Micah Hall said: “This is an exciting project which has been several months in development and it has truly been a team effort.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase some of the more unsung things that go on behind the scenes at a football club and we are sure that it will be of great interest to fans, sponsors and advertisers alike.

“We have brought together some great content with a huge potential reach and this channel will become increasingly important to us, as we try to build the profile of the club and increase revenues.”

The first edition of Heaven’s Light can be downloaded here. The next edition of the e-mag is planned to be 48-pages.
