Midfielder signs for a month
Pompey have signed midfielder Gavin Mahon on a one-month deal.
The 36-year-old midfielder – who will wear the number 15 shirt – was a free agent after leaving Notts County at the end of last season.
He said: “I’m really happy to have signed for Pompey. I can’t wait to get started and I’m looking forward to my time here.”
Mahon started his career at Wolves before going on to play for Hereford, Brentford and Watford.
While with the Hornets, he scored a goal against Pompey at Vicarage Road in 2007 that was a Premier League Goal of the Month nomination.
Mahon then moved to QPR prior to joining Notts County in the summer of 2011, making a total of 49 appearances for the Magpies.
He spent the final few months of last season on loan at Stevenage.
