Winger hails Pompey's attacking style
Andy Barcham is delighted that Guy Whittingham shares his footballing philosophy.
The winger has been in fine form for Pompey since arriving from Scunthorpe over the summer.
He opened his goalscoring account in last month’s 2-2 draw at Mansfield and has been an attacking threat in every game he has played.
And Barcham believes the Blues’ style of play has helped him adapt quickly to life on the south coast.
“The way we play is fantastic for someone like me who enjoys getting forward,” he says in the official matchday magazine for Saturday’s match against Fleetwood. “We’ve got some very good attacking players here.
“We’re always looking to link up and play attractive football – it’s great that the gaffer gives us the freedom to do that.
“Sometimes we will have to graft out a result, but we also want to entertain.
“I’ve played in this league before and there are lots of different styles, but we’re focused on what we do and believe it’s the right way to play and can take us forward.”
You can read the full interview with Barcham in the official matchday magazine on Saturday.
