DUNNE HOPING FOR SETTLED SEASON

The 2013/14 campaign was certainly a season of contrasts for James Dunne.

He found himself largely surplus to requirements at Stevenage in the first half.

But the midfielder excelled after being loaned to St Johnstone in January, helping them lift the Scottish Cup.

And now he is hoping for a more settled experience after signing for Pompey over the summer.

“Going out on loan was a great experience for me,” says Dunne in the official matchday magazine for Saturday’s League Two clash with Cambridge at Fratton Park. “Winning the cup was an amazing experience.

“That was the biggest moment of my career, but hopefully there are many more like it to come.

“Now I want to get back to playing every week and play my part in helping get Pompey back where they belong.”

To read the full interview – including Dunne’s thoughts on the Blues’ academy graduates – pick up a magazine from programme sellers around Fratton Park on Saturday.

Also in issue four of the 84-page publication, Jack Whatmough reveals his favourite things and we take an in-depth look at Cambridge.

There are also exclusive columns from chairman Iain McInnes, manager Andy Awford and skipper Ben Chorley.

All this and much, much more can be found in the matchday magazine, which is great value at just £3.
