Diagouraga Can't Wait For Debut

18 February 2014

Midfielder looking forward to turning out for Pompey

Toumani Diagouraga is looking forward to having the Fratton faithful on his side.

The French midfielder has joined Pompey on loan from League One Brentford for an initial month.

Fifteen months ago he was helping the Londoners to a 1-0 victory at Fratton Park.

And Diagouraga also played 90 minutes at Griffin Park last April, when even snatching defeat from the jaws of victory failed to prevent the travelling Blues fans from celebrating the imminent takeover of their club.

But, after completing the first training with his new team-mates, he cannot wait to pull on a Pompey shirt for the first time.

Diagouraga said: “I don’t need to be told that there will be a good atmosphere – I know that having played here last season.

“It will be nice to have the fans behind me this time and I’m looking forward to being able to experience that.

“I haven’t been playing for Brentford recently and the important thing for me was to come out and get some games again.

“I spoke with the manager there last week and, after looking at a couple of offers, decided to come to Fratton Park.

“The chance to come here means a lot and I would like to thank both sets of fans for their kind comments and messages they have given me.

“What I can offer Pompey as a player is someone who is confident on the ball with the ability to play from box to box.

“I can also promise the supporters that I will always give 100 per cent for whatever side I am playing for.”
