Papa John's competition winner enjoys successful start
The winner of Papa John’s Pizza’s once-in-a-lifetime Sign For Your Club competition, in partnership with the Football League and SkyBet, has had an immediate impact.
Lifelong fan Rob Phillips was unveiled as a Blues player at an official press conference last Friday, shortly after signing a season-long contract at the club.
And in his first game as a squad member, Pompey won 1-0 against League Two rivals Wimbledon at the weekend.
He joined the club following the transfer window as the winner of the FANtastic competition, offering him the unique opportunity to realise a childhood dream and become an official squad member of Portsmouth Football Club.
The pizza giant, and partner, SkyBet, launched the competition on January 6, with the aim of tapping into the football transfer window frenzy and to raise awareness of the brand by utilising its Football League sponsorship.
