EXCLUSIVE ITEMS UP FOR AUCTION

31 July 2014

Another way to help reach fanfunding goal

There are 11 days to go until the climax of Andy Awford’s Pompey Academy FanFunding campaign.

And we’ve introduced a new feature which enables people to bid on extremely rare and exclusive Blues memorabilia, which are being auctioned online.

This has been introduced following a call from fans to auction rather than sell some of the rarer items.

So far in the campaign we’ve seen a pair of Linvoy Primus’ boots, a signed Paul Merson shirt and a number of vintage shirts go for what many believed was below their asking price.

Pompey commercial and marketing manager Micah Hall explained: “I’m confident that by introducing this feature we should get the best possible price, rather than seeing some historical items get snapped up for less than their value. In doing so, we should be able to raise even more money for the academy.

“With only a couple of weeks left in the campaign – and still around £80,000 to raise – we want to try as many different ideas as possible to get fans donating and talking about reaching our goal.”

Each auction will also have a secret reserve price which will need to be met before being sold.

The first auction is for a 1993 replica away shirt with number 11 on the rear. It will be dedicated to the winning bidder and then signed by Andy Awford, Alan Knight and Alan McLoughlin.

You can make your bid via the campaign page. Bidding closes at 6pm

The auctions are in addition to the campaign rewards and ‘spot’ rewards which are available in exchange for donations to the campaign.

To see the full range of rewards and make your donation, please visit the official campaign page and help raise the final £80,000 before the campaign closes.
