RYAN TAYLOR: MY FIRST...

3 June 2014

CLUB
I started off playing rugby, but decided that was a bit rough for me and went into football. I joined Rawmarsh St Joseph’s at under-11 level. I was a bit smaller and quicker back then so played on the left wing.

MATCH AS A FAN
It was a Sheffield Wednesday game, but I can’t remember who it was against. My dad used to take me to Hillsborough, although when I joined Rotherham we had to get season tickets there.

PROFESSIONAL GAME
It was for Rotherham at home to Swindon. We lost 1-0, but I came on for the last few minutes when we were already behind.

FOOTBALL KIT
It was a green and black Sheffield Wednesday away kit when they were sponsored by Sanderson.

FILM AT THE CINEMA
I honestly can’t remember. I do recall that we could never get in to watch anything we wanted because we looked so young with our braces!

ALBUM
It was an East 17 album on cassette. I’ve got it on my iTunes now – it’s horrendous!

CAR
A red Fiat Punto. My dad got it for me when I passed my test and it got me from A to B.

MEMORY OF WANTING TO BE A FOOTBALLER
It was when I realised rugby wasn’t for me. I went for trials and had very good feedback. Then I scored a hat-trick in my first game and loved the feeling.
