Ladies Fight Back To Win Again

11 March 2014

Kempson, Wilson and Quinn on target against Gills

Pompey Ladies came from two goals down to beat Gillingham at Privett Park and extend their winning run to eight matches.

The visitors took the lead directly from a corner midway through the first half and doubled their advantage moments later.

But the Blues reduced the deficit before the interval, with Sarah Kempson scoring from the spot after Gemma Hillier had been fouled in the box.

And they drew level in the second half when Charley Wilson (pictured) broke the offside trap and coolly found the net.

Pompey’s winner arrived five minutes from the end as Lucy Quinn took advantage of a poor clearance to find the bottom corner and secure three points.

Pompey: Blakely, Bazan, McMillan, Frampton, Taylor, Quinn, Bloomfield (Edwards 65), Simmonds (Clark 78), Kempson, Hillier (c), Wilson
Subs not used: Hunt, Greene, Sievwright
