FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

21 May 2014

Train, play and study with Pompey in the Community

Are you aged 16 or 17 and want to train full-time?

Well, you could represent Pompey in the southern division of the PLFL U19 Development League against the likes of Chelsea, Fulham and Tottenham.

This full-time two-year scholarship programme will give a unique learning opportunity to those who could potentially be late football developers, giving them time to develop while also studying for a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma – allowing entry to top sports universities across the country.

Craig Pearce, Pompey in the Community’s head of sports and coaching, said: “This will be an amazing experience for the scholars as we will replicate a professional learning and training environment – the same as the current full-time scholars within Pompey’s academy.”

The course starts in September 2014 and runs for two years. Study sessions take place at the Pompey Study Centre.

A trial day will be held for those who are interested on the 4G pitch at the Mountbatten Centre between 1pm and 3pm on Tuesday, May 27.
