NICKY SHOREY: MY FIRST...

29 May 2014

CLUB
A side called Comets back in Essex. I was about nine or 10 and started off as a goalscoring left-sided midfielder.

MATCH AS A FAN
It would have been a Leyton Orient match, although I couldn’t tell you who the opposition were. My dad worked as a scout there and used to take me to the games. I supported them and Arsenal when I was growing up.

PROFESSIONAL GAME
It was for Orient away at Shrewsbury. I come on for the final few minutes and it was freezing.

FOOTBALL KIT
That was an Arsenal kit with Tony Adams’ name on the back.

SINGLE
I’m not really much of a music fan to be honest, so can’t remember what the first song I bought was.

FILM AT THE CINEMA
I went to watch a He-Man film when I was younger – I think that was probably the first one.

CAR
A Fiesta – it didn’t last too long, though.

MEMORY OF WANTING TO BE A FOOTBALLER
It was probably when I was about seven or eight – there’s never been anything else that I’ve wanted to do.
