Harris, Jervis, Painter and Racon among those departing
Pompey have released nine professional players ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.
George Branford, Ashley Harris, Jake Jervis, Yassin Moutaouakil, Marcos Painter, Thery Racon, Phil Smith, Liam Triggs and Josh Warren have all left the club.
Loan players Daniel Alfei (Swansea), Trevor Carson (Bury), Michael Drennan (Aston Villa) and Danny Hollands (Charlton) have returned to their parent clubs.
Meanwhile, talks are ongoing with Jed Wallace, Nicky Shorey, Bondz N’Gala, Nick Awford and Jack Maloney, whose deals all expire this summer.
But Ryan Bird and Adam Webster are both staying at Fratton Park after the club decided to take up options on their contracts.
Pompey are also delighted to offer first-year professional contracts to academy players Ben Close and Bradley Tarbuck, but fellow scholars Jae Heon Kim, Harry Medway and Lewis Horsburgh have been released.
Blues boss Andy Awford said: “I’d like to thank all of the released players for their service to this club and wish them every success for the future.”
